Gear Rules must be followed at every PCAV Rally, Clinic or Event. 

The policy for First Aid for PCAV is designed to ensure that all riders have access to First Aid at all levels of activity within PCAV.

 

Who is affected by the Policy

This policy applies to all Pony Club Victoria members, administrators, officials, coaches, riders, participants, visitors, volunteers and employees. This policy also applies when any of these listed individuals are representing Pony Club Victoria or attending any Pony Club Victoria facilities, functions, or events.

 

Policy

Minimum First Aid Requirements

  • Club (all Rallies, camps, events and club activities)
  • First Aid room / station/ area
  • A well maintained industry approved First Aid kit
  • A club will make every effort to have a designated Level 2 First Aid Officer in attendance
  • Documented and displayed accident procedure
  • Documented and displayed emergency contact numbers
  • Members register with emergency contacts available in the First Aid area
  • First Aid log shall be maintained by the PCAV First Aid Officer

Inter-Club / Zone

  • First Aid room / station/ area
  • A well maintained industry approved First Aid kit
  • Designated Level 2 First Aid Officer in attendance
  • Documented and displayed accident procedure
  • Documented and displayed emergency contact numbers
  • Members register and visitors attendance sheets with emergency contacts available in the First Aid area
  • First Aid log shall be maintained by the PCAV First Aid Officer

State

  • Accredited First Aid provider in attendance eg St John’s or Red Cross or Life Aid
  • First Aid room / station / area / van
  • A well maintained industry approved First Aid kit
  • Designated PCAV First Aid Co-ordinator in attendance
  • Documented and displayed accident procedure
  • Documented and displayed emergency contact numbers
  • Members register and visitors attendance sheets with emergency contacts available in the First Aid area
  • First Aid log shall be maintained by the PCAV First Aid Co-ordinator

 

Club/Zone/State - For events with more than 200 participants, a doctor should be in attendance.

 

Non-Compliance Strategy

Non-compliance with this policy will result in disciplinary action by the Club/Zone or PCAV Executive on behalf of the Council.
